Miss Li

It seems like Apple have done it again.

I would say I was get­ting a little sick of them launch­ing the careers of every decent zeit­geist artist of the moment but I’m not. And this is not because I like Apple. I own none of their products and never have done. I am still ter­rific­ally pre­ju­diced against the Ipod and prefer to buy Cre­at­ive MP3 play­ers. I think those white head phones make you look like a twat and I am still, to my great dis­ad­vant­age, using a dell.

But the thing with Apple is that you can’t fault their busi­ness model nor their mar­ket­ing which are both unmis­tak­ably well put together, often flaw­less and respons­ible for the career boost­ing expos­ure given to artists like Feist, CSS, (regret­tably) The Ting Tings, a whole host of oth­ers and now to my great delight Miss Li.

Real name Linda Carls­son, Miss Li is a Swedish singing sen­sa­tion with an estab­lished cata­logue of 4 albums already behind her and a voice like a drunken angel. Play­ful, bawdy and roguishly inno­cent her music is a joy to listen to.
